Ep.43 - Wiley, Shawshank & Our Health
On Ep.43 of "What's Good?" - Wiley vs Drake & Ed Sheeran, one of my favourite films turns 25, how the Climate Crisis is affecting our health & can sports fans protest during games?
In a week where:
- For the first time in history, the Hubble space telescope has spotted liquid water. It's been found on a planet called K2-18 b, and it's only 110 light-years away.
- A pensioner claims he spent £30,000 of life savings, including his sons’ inheritance, fighting a £100 speeding fine.
- After 22 years and seven tries, Ash Ketchum FINALLY wins the Pokemon League.
- The 5th Element now has IG!
In Sports: (6:20) In the wake of MLS team, the Portland Timbers banning AntiFa flags at games, (The GOAT) Kareem Abdul-Jabbar thinks about protesting in the stands and the parameters on doing your protesting and not ruining somebody's sporting experience.
In Life: (20:35) One thing that hasn't been highlighted in our continued grappling of the Climate Crisis is how it can affect our health. Turns out, there are many potential health risks that are beefed up simply because the Earth is heating up.
In Film/TV: (35:46) One of my favourite films of All-Time, "The Shawshank Redemption" turns 25 and I wanted to give time on why its a masterpiece and what you should do if you have never seen it.
Lastly, in Music: (45:18) The "Godfather of Grime", Wiley, has gone on a Twitter rampage in the past few weeks, saying that Ed Sheeran & Drake are "Culture Vultures". This glorious run of rage culminated in an amazing 16-minute conversation on BBC Radio 1Extra. Some points I agree, some I'm on the fence on. One thing I disagree with is the term "Culture Vulture".
