In Sports: (19:36) Who knew that one tweet from an NBA General Manager would cause a geo-politically existential outrage! Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey, who's team is VERY rooted to China and their star player James Harden "LOVES" China, decided to show solidarity with Hong-Kong. Background of the politics behind that aside, (Hit up previous WG episodes for a refresh on Hong-Kong) China is pissed, Chinese basketball fans are pissed, the NBA has had to lowkey grovel to China (because money) & now Texan politicians are popping shots at the NBA for the lowkey grovelling. It's... A lot.
In Life: (37:17) A little story of Euzhan Palcy, who was the first black woman to direct a Hollywood film. The reason why you may not have heard of her? It's because she left pretty early in her career due to Hollywood being Hollywood.
And lastly, (45:33) since there are now three Podcasts under the #5EPN, I thought I'd give a progress report, including some personal thoughts as the year & decade reaches it's closing stages.
