Ep.52 - The Clout Grammys, Bill Russell & Uighurs

On the defacto anniversary episode of WG: The Grammys go full "Clout Chaser", Bill Russell is a legend in more ways than one, I go to see Blu & Exile & the Uighurs aren't getting our empathy.
In a week where:
  1. Two people in China have been diagnosed with Pneumonic Plague
  2. A&E waiting times hit worst-ever level since targets began in 2004.
  3. 15 years after its original release the iconic Motorola Razr flip phone is coming back... for $1500.
  4. With the launch of Disney+, more than 10 million subscribers have signed up on its very first day of release.
  5. The Source on Twitter asks "Just wondering If anyone knows when rappers will start actually rapping again"
  6. Corbyn & Johnson debate on ITV.
  7. Jose Mourinho is Tottenham manager after Pochettino sacked.
  8. Screenwriter of Harriet reveals a Studio Exec once suggested Julia Roberts play Tubman.
In the 1st Music segment: (11:16) The Grammy Nominations have dropped and this year they have just thrown their hands up and said "Fuck it, pick the most popular people." to the point where they nominated an EP for ALBUM OF THE YEAR.

In Sports: (42:26) Bill Russell is one of the greatest basketball players of All-Time and should be always included in the GOAT conversation. But not just for his play, he should be in the conversation because of his principles and respect for his predecessors. And his reason for finally accepting his place in the HoF is proof.

In the 2nd Music segment: (51:22) I spent my Saturday going to London and seeing one of my favourite Hip-Hop duos, Blu & Exile. But that wasn't all that happened as I explain in an omitted part from the latest episode of "Diggin' In The Digits".

And finally, in Life: (1:02:53) The NY Times has released a 400+ page leak of official documents from the Chinese Government over the recent treatment of the Uighur minority. Put simply, they're Chinese Muslims, they're being contained in camps and it's been going on for three years. This led me to think about how much empathy we have and whether the ability to gain knowledge on world events such as this has stretched our ability to empathise thin.
