Ep.109 - Phil Spector & Facebook Messenger
On Ep.109 of WG: Some more personal accounts of The New Cross Fire, Novak Djokovic continues to be a tool, Phil Spector was damaged AF & you should delete Facebook Messenger now.
In a week where:
- Trump is impeached for the 2nd time.
- James Harden is traded to the Brooklyn Nets in the biggest NBA trade ever.
- Italy's largest organized crime trial in more than three decades begins, with prosecutors bringing charges against 355 members of the 'Ndrangheta crime network.
- More than 2 Million worldwide have now died from Corona.
- The UK reports 1820 Covid deaths, the highest daily toll so far.
In the first of two Life segments: (6:10) Last week I scratched the surface of The New Cross Fire, but as the 18th January has come & gone in between, cementing 40 years since, I wanted to read something that goes a little deeper.
In Sports: (29:07) The Australian Open is next month and Tennis players slated to play are going to be isolated in a hotel for two weeks. Seems reasonable, but Novak Djokovic once again pipes up with some dumb spew.
In Music: (37:22) Convicted murderer, formerly known as hit producer Phil Spector is dead and as someone that didn't know how damaged he was, I was more than compensated reading some anecdotes from the people that worked with him.
Lastly, in the 2nd Life segment: (50:22) The tech world has been obsessing over WhatsApp's changing privacy policy, but why look at WhatsApp is inevitably going to be when we already have an app that does all the horrible data mining & more! Enter Facebook Messenger.
