Ep.138 - The Climate, Flexing & The 2011 Riots

On Ep.138 of WG: The Olympics are over, the Climate crisis is undeniable, artists need to stop flexing and the death of Mark Duggan & the subsequent 2011 Riots, 10 years on.
In a week where:
  1. Rihanna is now a billionaire.
  2. Italy is now suffering from wildfires.
  3. Lionel Messi leaves Barcelona and signs a 2-Year deal with PSG.
  4. "South Park" creators sign a $900M deal to renew the series with ViacomCBS through 2027; the deal includes 14 new films for Paramount+.
  5. Three years until Paris 2024!
In Sports: (10:25) The Olympics are over and I have plenty of thoughts about the past two weeks. Notably, the gratitude athletes had just to make it there.

In the first of two Life segments: (23:55) The IPCC report on the world climate as sent shockwaves. But will governments finally stop goal-setting and act now?

In Music: (36:25) It's not new that Hip-Hop artists flex. But with everyone getting more and more aware of the economic struggle compounded by the pandemic, are Hip-Hop artists being incredibly tone-deaf?

Lastly, in the 2nd Life segment: (50:44) It's been 10 years since the death of Mark Duggan & the riots that came after. And the framing of the event is still skewed.
