Ep.143 - Little Simz & Channel 4 "Black To Front"

On Ep.143 of WG: A celebration of Little Simz, A look into Channel 4's "Black To Front" and how societies who treat women badly, fare worse.
In a week where:
  1. Arlo Parks wins the '21 Mercury Prize.
  2. A Royal Aide says The Queen supports BLM.
  3. Emma Radacanu wins the US Open.
  4. 12-15-year-olds in the UK will be offered the COVID-19 vaccine.
  5. Prince Andrew gets served.
In Music: (8:05) The one album that has been on my mind in the past couple of weeks is Little Simz' "Sometimes I Might Be Introvert". So I thought I'd give Simz some flowers.

In a double-dip of Film/TV: (20:50) Channel 4 recently did "Black To Front" where a whole day of programming featured majority-black talent. So in this double-feature of sorts, we look at how they got it done.

And then we look at an analysis of the day itself.

Lastly, in Life: (52:33) A lot of global discourse recently has been what the fate of Afghani women will be in the new Taliban regime. And when we zoom out a little, we see that societies that treat women badly fare worse overall.
